In linux you can try amarok, its great. There are other popular media
 player too
VLC media player
MPlayer
xine
bmp-wma
ffmpeg

You need to keep in mind, the official version (from the linux) of
these player wont be able to play files like mp3 and other formats as
they are illegal in some places. But after installing the codecs you
can easily play... there is the trick.
