I think you don't have proper driver for you mobile to work as modem. So,
please search it in Internet

Regarding Music and video you can download MPlayer (along with it's codacs).
It is easy to install and use.
you can find rpm of these packets in http://www.rpmfind.net/
u just need to install these packets as
# rpm -hiv <packetname>
as root
after installation
you can run Mplayer  (GUI version) by typing
#gmplayer
in consol
or find mplayer in Application/Sound and Video menu
