I was too having problem with the videos in Ubuntu. In my case: Whenever i watch the video, the video screen gets black and have only the audio but as i drag the window within the screen from one place to another. i could see the video. But again as i open any window or use timescroll in the video the screen gets black. The solution at that moment is to again drag the video panel to some another place in the screen. Later when used console to open the application with : totem --debug
the error message said [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ totem --debug ** Message: Couldn't initialize lirc. ** ERROR **: file gstasfdemux.c: line 498 (gst_asf_demux_get_var_length): assertion failed: (*p_size >= 1) aborting... Aborted (core dumped) Jwalanta suggested me of turning Compiz fusion off. Damn Compiz fusion is using same thing !........ From session i removed the compiz and then reloaded Xserver. Now i have no problem with the video but so sad i could not use compiz.... Can any one suggest any solution so that i could watch video with compiz running???????? -- Prabin Gautam "ओपन ठिटो" Registered Linux User #443940 letS makE ouR streeT FOSSible.......... --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ FOSS Nepal mailing list: [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/foss-nepal To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Community website: http://www.fossnepal.org/ -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
