I wouldn't really agree. Not everyone got fed up and moved to Linux. Linux
is still crap on the desktop. But I use it because my day-to-day job is
working on those crap. Is Microsoft Windows better on the desktop? Hell!
Yes.

Even today I'd say Windows is much better and more stable on the desktop
market. The variety and the functionality that Microsoft provides with
Windows is awesome.

What I hate about Microsoft is its monopolistic nature. But that isn't just
with Microsoft, Apple is a bigger monopolizer in that regard.

But I guess it is all about freedom. If you like Apple, you don't give a
damn to monopoly. Or proprietariness.

Microsoft is no evil. It does business and it does it good.
What it does bad is "copying". Because of the large user base and the amount
of complexities involved in the way Microsoft products are used, it is very
difficult for Microsoft to even copy and introduce a new feature in its
products.
