Folks,Ubuntu Ultimate edition do rock, it provide various packages suitable for wide range of user (from newbies to professionals). As far as stability or usability is concern both Free software and Proprietary counterpart have their own evaluation measure. As far as I know, there exist alternative for almost all kinda work you do with proprietary system. Well if you want exact replica of some high end software you might be disappointed (I know most of you are not using licensed copy of it either). But talking about functionality and end result tell me what you cannot do using Free software? About special arguments on Microsoft office packages okay let's assume it rocks but is it standard or support all document standard, for me the coolness factor of Microsoft directly conflict with it not supporting many document standard and international dirty politics to promote their own International standards + filthy price they ask for introducing me with bloatware, spyware and all sort of "I don't know what it is doing" ,but I believe if your documentation need is so strong you should leave Openoffice or Microsoft word and consider tex (latex). Something looking cool and smart has nothing to do with productivity (they might have made it cool just to attract ppl to pay for filthy license). Saying that, If you do not want to use Free Software , just don't use them. If you want to argue about difference just don't tell name or GUI feature, consider philosophy, stability, platform independence and many other features before jumping into words. And my last lines dedicated to Ujjwol, dude you're so gonna be pissed of later when you realize Microsoft visual basic is not as smart then you imagine, you might be aware of fact that to be a visual basic developer you gotta pay different license price to Microsoft and with retail price of visual basic you can buy brand new computer and save enough to buy reference books on best programing language of world.
