I don't think its time for Nepali government to move to OpenSource yet. Well the points:

1. Security
2. Support
3. Cost

sound great but isn't feasible in context of Nepal according to my views.

Well I cannot argue on the point "Security' but however the 2 remaining point would make it impossible to move. First there are very few support assistant in Nepal regarding opensource matters than other proprietary solutions. A government organization would be looking for a prompt support and that's hard to get. No offence but there are only few experts here in Nepal so they are high priced and the long term cost goes high. But as in case of other available solutions in market the initial cost is quite high but the running cost is quite low. Which in long run balances the equation.

So we should betta move to "Less talk, Learn More" from "More talk, Learn Less" and after we have enough population to support Opensource we can sure pressure government with our philosophies.

Peace

Please remember that, if we migrate them and can't assign one of two helpdesk to help. Then its useless to migrate them.. because they will need support.
