I would like to wish you a good luck to Aish and everyone involved in it.

I tried to evaluate apertium for Nepali-Hindi pair and it was a painful
job. I would like to say that its really good that Aish and others
(Laxmiji, Bal Krishna ji) are involved in it. Eventually we would get a
translator for ourselves.

I think I would not be involved deeply because It took a significant amount
of my time while I researched in this last year. However I will be glad to
look what is happening and may be I would like to be the first one to test
the product.

I have read success stories of apertium in other languages such as Spanish
and English (which were closely related). If we could get an English-Nepali
pair that would be a great thing. I think that a Hindi-Nepali pair would be
another feasible option in case of failure of an English-Nepali pair. In
that way we could benefit from some of the existing English-Hindi machine
translation technologies.
