Microsoft is learning FOSS in global scenario with crazy aggressiveness and
wants to secure good stake in rapid pace as well as sustainable engagement
inside FOSS communities and foundations except
http://www.openinventionnetwork.com to the safest level it feels.
We can see the investments (sponsorship), projects (highest in Github) all
around. Its impressive the way Microsoft is adapting FOSS for whatever
reason behind, its upon them and its the freedom they can enjoy. (High
Time).

*# Please jump to dotted line if you like hate comments only.#*

Global community of FOSS is welcoming the move and is in the mode of wait
and see. Same in Nepal as well. Avas Mulmi did visualize the laxman rekha
which I also agree.

Lets talk about organizing meet-ups and events collaboration and blame
about FOSS Nepal ignorance to MIC.

*Some thing what I learn as a FOSS member:*
1. FOSS Nepal member work on their own mood and interest around the norms
of FOSS. When mood and interest combined then something interesting and
crazy positive change happens. So does FOSS Nepal as everything happens in
the melody. To collaborate we should be in this tune. Seems too much moody.
2. FOSS Nepal have moral supports for every events and communities who work
around FOSS norms. If invited it will take part actively and contribute
accordingly to the extent of its available resources.
3. Every community can have their own ideology regarding organizing events
of their own and FOSS Nepal respects that. Members are free to join and
participate to any level of those events, simply no objection. If they are
participating as FOSS Nepal member, FOSS Norms are to be respected by the
beholder.
4. FOSS Nepal can collaborate to any one who believes in the norms of
FOSS. For specific interest they can match themselves with the members from
the FOSS spectrum (Model) they are in and communicate accordingly.
5. FOSS Nepal doesnot focus in a single community. ie. GNU/Linux * - Red
Hat / Ubuntu / Chitwanix / LTSP / Mozilla / Android / Wordpress / Joomla /
PHP / Open Street Map / College Community / ...... / M$ etc. Every one are
the part of FOSS spectrum in which level of Freedom they believe in.
6. FOSS Nepal exist upto now because of its norms and the way it behaves.
Monetary and Physical resources were never the barrier to organize events
and meetups. So does BSOD are popular for larger to small level events.
Every event are planned to be organized with free entrance and
participation with no hidden fees.
7. FOSS Nepal can't compromise its major events for the sake of other
community events.

*Ignorance to MIC by FOSS Nepal*
*1. SFD ignorance - *
Every member was busy around to make sfd 2016 successful event. And there
are lots of things to do in regular basic rather than giving one community
event priority. In every sfd, expectation are high from the community
member about the event. I haven't heard NOSK/OSM/OSAC/FOSS
Chitwan complaining FOSS Nepal is ignoring their event. They organize their
events in parallel some time collaborating to each other. Again depends
upon the mood melody.
*2. Developer Meetup Case happening right now: *
- Seems the bsod meetup was discussed by POC and venue time was fixed
already with whatever resource available and event was called. This is not
the ignorance to MIC neither to other community. Even if MIC member or
participant want to participate, they are welcome.
- I haven't seen any official invitation from MIC developer meetup
organizer for FOSS Nepal or any information from POC about the MIC
event, So picking the same word, ignorance came from MIC. In our words
communication gap from MIC.

*For Future Events:*
A. Invite us formally on mailing list (1-2 Week Prior to Event) or you can
discuss with any of the POC. Find details in FOSS Nepal website.
B. Describe FOSS Nepal role in your event and how we can help you to make
your event successful. Please remember to be around FOSS norms.
C. To be the part of FOSS Nepal events, please follow our mailing list
regularly for upcoming events. Participate as in any Level as participant,
presentation, stalls, sponsor, supporter. POC will also contact appropriate
community for the events.
D. Co-Organizing: I haven't heard about ever FOSS Nepal became co-organizer
any where other events. I hope in future it will if the event is under full
FOSS Norms.
E. Resource Person from FOSS Nepal. Generally every one is available for
free on their free time as FOSS Nepal most program are fees less. Thanx for
their generosity. Resource person have the freedom to deal this topic. (On
my context I prefer 1 Mustang Coffee 1 qns. If paid event we can negotiate.)
