Indeed,  at  the  time I  sent  the  email,  it  worked. It  looks  like
[2f07c443fb] fixes that problem.

And aside from some regressions to existing test cases that were broken by changes to trunk, it does now both build and pass the tests in my Win10 box. I've fixed and pushed one regression, and am testing my fix to the other as I type.

I decided that choosing how to fix the breakage was above my pay grade without taking a lot of time to understand how the name of the stash tables were supposed to work.
