Unless I'm wrong, I seem to recall that there is a setting to make the
timeline permit wiki and/or HTML markup for check-in comments.
The combination of disabling plaintext comments and allowing block block
markup gives me what I need. However, it does nothing to help the
command line. But that's not the end of the world, since the GUI is
available, though I would prefer some improvement be done in this area.
