Yes, I would find selective stash save/apply useful. But I see the dangers of partial commit of git's staging area. I've read that git has an interactive mode [1] that allows the user to stage specific parts or changes within a single file. However, I've only used Atlassian's SourceTree tool to interact with git's staging area.
