"some people" (*cough*) sometimes forget to do --branch and prefer the
new/up approach to avoid that potential mistake. Of course, forgetting to
do the 'up' to the new branch is basically the same problem. (Yes, you can
move a commit to a new branch with the UI, but i often forget that, too.)
