So I think I've dealt wit hmost of the issues reported in the 2 parts
report made by Channing, + some hints from Mary and Matt.
Still the remaining issue around database connectivity :-(
Latest versions of the packages available at
ftp://ftp.project-builder.org/test/centos/5/fossology-trunk-1.centos5.src.rpm
and
ftp://ftp.project-builder.org/test/centos/5/fossology-trunk-1.centos5.x86_64.rpm
You can use the repo file
ftp://ftp.project-builder.org/test/centos/5/fossology.repo for your yum
conf and get what I have above.

I'll be able to generate packages for other distros, as soon as we solve
that issue.
Matt, if you look at my .spec file, you'll see that I've developed a lot
of lines, that hopfully could go into your main install script.
(Cf: ftp://ftp.project-builder.org/test/centos/5/fossology.spec)
There is just the need to pass the files to modify as parameters as they
are located at different places on different distros. But you could also
then use it for Debian the same way I think:
Lines such as the one to setup PHP, PG, could go upstream I think.
