IMO from a pure tool perspective, it should be possible. >From an RPM perspective it's no. Now I like to differentiate what is done at install time and what is required at run time. Having the admin of the system involved when installing a tool such as fossology (which requires quite a lot of resources to run) is a *good* thing IMO. THere needs to be discussion between the users of the tool and the admin of the system. So having them perform the installation may not be an issue. However, once installed that the system runs without the need to be root is something completely different that could probably be achieved during time and only the poeple involved in fossology dev van really comment on that I think.
