I'm pleased to tell you that a comprehensive backup and restore plan
is going to be part of our 1.2 release early next year. You already
saw most of this work in your search on fossology.org.
The main things are, you need to back up your Postgres database, and
your file repository.
You can do both of these things today using standard tools like rsync.
One thing we will add in 1.2 is the ability to back up only your gold
files, and have FO restore the unpacked files on demand.

What about Restoring any of this?

in the event of something bad?
I did look at ALL your docs on fossolgy.com and nothing under
maintenance/admin or anything else. I know these docs are a nice to
have and you guys have your hands full with full-time jobs and
higher-level fixes/improvements for fossolgy. But I'm tasked with
backing up all this and knowing how to restore, besides nobody cares
if you can backup-only if you can restore!!! =)
