Hi Guys,

Just FYI - from another Brocade operator also supporting these POS modules, Brocade *does* seem to be releasing some updates to the 5200 IW train to fix some nasty bugs that specifically affect the POS modules using PPP encapsulation (spontaneous module reloads, LCP dropping but traffic counters showing card @ 99% line rate). We are phasing the cards out, but I do hope Brocade continues to release 5200 revisions covering critical defects.

Cheers!
Kevin

I just happened to be reading the 5.3 release notes and I just saw that they

Beginning with R05.3.00, all types of POS modules are not supported.

Couldn't find any docs on this., but I've got an NI-X-OC192x2 card that
keeps giving an unsupported error:

NetIron XMR-16000 Router>Module down in slot 1, reason
CARD_DOWN_REASON_UNSUPPORTED_CARD. Error Code (0)

I'm running an XMR with 5400b. Anyone seen this before? Solutions?

It's "EOL per 1/4/2013" which I assume to be 4 January. Removal of support may
have been mentioned in software release notes, but if so I've read past it.

Tried downgrading to a 5.2-based release?

5.3 is supposed to be the last supported version for POS cards from what I hear.

Regards,
Mike
