John,

What is NCD offering as an alternative? Or are they getting out of the
X-Terminal market altogether?

        Subject: X-Terminals

        Hi all,

We've been using NCD ExploraPro and later the NCD Explora 400 units
as
x-terminals on our I/A system. NCD has advised that they are no
longer
manufacturing the Explora line, so I've got to find a replacement.

We are using these NCD Exploras as x-terminals because of their
small size,
no moving parts and high mtbf rating -- excellent performance in
grungy
environments. NCDware software made installing these almost as easy
as
plug-n-play. We saw these as superior to using a PC with an
emulator for
reliability reasons and superior to extra WPs for more obvious ($)
reasons.

I'd welcome any info on what others are using for x-terminals or
other
        alternatives.

        Regards,

        John Katz
