Stan,
Re: Options
Are you dead set against Micro I/A for AB integration?
It has Ethernet support, it's faster than a CP30 (almost a 40), it has the
full block set, it costs less, ...
Frankly, I can't see a reason to use a DI30 unless you need fault-tolerant
electronics.
Re: AW-I
Yes, the AW-I if not running would cut you off from the PLCs. However, it is
suitable for a number of uses.

Thanks for the nice concise summary.
I geuss I am leaning in the direction of Integrator 30's at
this point.
Kind of a big diapointment, since I know the limts of them
pretty well,
and The AB Station, at first blush, looked like it would be
a big win.
The ehternet solutin runs on an AW, does it not? If so then
I loose all
my comunications to the PLC if I shut that AW down, right?
Or is there
some redundancy that I am not aware of?
It would be wonderful if there were. We have non Foxboro
based computer
control systems talking to AB Ethernet PLC's in anothe
applications,
and the I/O throughput is incrediable!
