Well, let's see. No raises for anyone at my day job, ASU. Parking
rates went up. I now pay $780/year for the privilege of parking where
I work. Groceries have skyrocketed. I haven't raised my rates though
but I won't lower them. I do offer more deals for longer hours and the
distance I will go without charging my clients is much longer now than
last year. So I am lowering my rates in a roundabout way. It's the
painters who charge just a bit more than half of what I do, which is a
reasonable rate after all my expenses, that make it difficult to get
as many bookings. I am not doing all that bad because now after five
years I get a lot of repeat bookings. But I am not going to lower my
hourly rate because I am barely making ends meet now. I offer quality
painting with quality products and I am licensed and insured.
Thankfully, many people care about that. The ones who don't care can
go with the inexpensive painters and they will get what they pay for.
I' think I am doing my bit toward holding down inflation by not
raising my prices but lowering them . . . thankfully, it hasn't gotten
that bad yet.JoanOn Sep 4, 9:30 am, ColorWhims <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
