Hi

I've written at length about this before, but maybe not yet for this group.

I agree 100% that a photo of their face is a great memory and, when they put it
on their fridge or pinboard or wall is a continual reminder and promo for you.

However there are three things that don't work for me about the onsite system:

#1 I can't be taking that kind of hardware around all the time. It's an extra
load, and presents a security risk I'd prefer to avoid.

#2 Nothing is smooth for the entire time and whilst 20 seconds doesn't seem
much, my guess is that it would be longer at least some of the time.

#3 When you give this away, you still don't know who they are!

The philosophy I employ (and teach) is to capture happy strangers and customers
so that you can market to them over and over. So I'd prefer to spend that 20
seconds in capturing their email address so that I could send them the photo
later.

Now I can either send it or, more efficiently, email the entire list a password
to a website folder, so they can go and download it themselves.

This gives you time to adjust and add whatever you like to the photos, and it
provides a great reminder after the event once they receive the email. There
has been an expectation which you fulfill.

Further, you can also include a rights text file that, once they've accessed
it, gives you permission to further use on publicity etc.

Finally, and most importantly, you now have a growing list (which I hope you
all do anyway) so you can send monthly news, launches, announcements or offers
as per your usual customer and client mailings. However, these will be on a
'strangers' list ripe for entry into your sales funnel.
