I've used Wolfe for my detailing for about a year now, and I love it. To me, it has its place in the business just as much as a glycerin-based makeup does.
But here's where my loyalties end with Wolfe, now that Diamond FX is in the market. At the convention, Diamond FX was offering their product at 10 percent off. This was 10 percent off of a product that is comparable to Wolfe, less expensive than Wolfe, larger in quantity than Wolfe, and (I believe) has more color choices than Wolfe. We're consumers. We're not stupid, and we're not loyal when it comes to those parameters. Needless to say, the only people I saw at the Wolfe booth were just talking with each other. It was a mad house at the Diamond FX booth. By the next day, Wolfe put everything (but sponges) at 50 percent off. They were basically "#...@!& you" to Diamond FX. Again, we as consumers showed our true colors. The Diamond FX booth was (naturally) dead, and the Wolfe booth was raging. In the end, I bought a few Diamond FX products, and a bunch of Wolfe products. But I'll tell you this: if Wolfe doesn't start to realize it no longer has a monopoly on the market, it will really start to feel the sway of its consumers - us. Because (and I believe I speak for many, many of us), when our Wolfe FX runs out, who do you think we'll be restocking our product with? Yep - the company that gives us the comparable product that's less expensive, more product quantity, and a larger line of colors - Diamond FX. And Gary? Thank you again for storing my "evil cancer paints" at your booth. I love you :) Cheers, Kristi Darby Pigment Pie Face Painting, Henna, Glitter Tattoos, and Loopy Locks! "Everybody likes pie... What Gary referred to happened at the very beginning of Diamond FX's introduction. He was correct about Diamond FX labels over Wolfe Products. This happened in Europe (NOT the U.S.) and was done by a distributor. As Gary, said the details can get a bit daunting, but the fact remains that Diamond FX is NOT the same as Wolfe FX. Which brand is better? I think people need to decide for themselves. Jams and conventions are the best place to test different products. "...Well done Cynthia for supporting free enterprise..." I heard that the vendor room was a bit tense at Cynthia's. While I'm all for free enterprise, I can understand Marcela's concern. It was tried once and found "uncomfortable". Let's face it, there's some issues going on between the companies/ artists that many of us are not privy to and both sides are feeling wronged. Let's just hope (& pray) the dust settles and feathers are smoothed over time. IMHO - Money talks and contracts rule. If Coca-Cola was a platinum sponsor at Marcela's convention, I know they would include in the contract that Pepsi not be allowed to participate and vice-versa. (You never see the two companies products intermixed at a restaurant or an event.) It's called doing business and positioning your company, plain and simple.
