Thanks for the ramblings Erica, it was interesting reading, & I'm sure many reading it didn't realise how things with the dealers. Here in the UK we don't have so many manufacturers, so we rely on the retailers, however we do have the rule that if one person is selling, for example, Wolfe, then no one else is allowed & how it is worked is by negiotiation between the retailers & the conf organiser, we tend to look at who has the import license for the product or if someone only sells one brand then they get the booth, but we have only a few regular retailers who come to the conventions & we all know & respect each other & we have even been found selling each others products on their stands:-) At a recent conf we did have a little bit of unease with glitter tats:-) but that was due somewhat to the methods used by one of the retailers........she went round to everyone elses stand & said you should buy my product the one you are selling is rubbish!!!! the work was beautiful & differrent to what we usually see but that booth was not popular with the rest of us!!! Sadly we don't get the real big discounts that you guys got at Cynthias convention.......as we have to buy at wholesale, we can't afford to sell it at that rate!! BUt we get our names out there & make a bit of the booth fee back.
