About the FPBA Convention....we are staying in Las Vegas! As many
people have pointed out there are a lot of great things about Las
Vegas..airfare, hotel room prices, restaurant choices and prices,
entertainment, etc. I did feel though that the Flamingo was a bit
too large for our group (my room was 1/2 mile hike from the
elevators!) and I personally like a smaller, more intimate setting.
So, for next year I have found a wonderful, smaller hotel that is
designed for business conferences. The hotel has one set of
elevators that bring everyone straight into the conference center!
No walking through casinos or long hikes through a big hotel. A lot
of space, 25,000 square feet, that is all OURS! (Vendors---over
4,000 square feet just for you!) Plenty of privacy and quiet areas
to have chats with friends, easy access to private areas outside,
more than enough classroom space for all of our needs. I AM REALLY
EXCITED about this location, I know it will give us that "big fish
in a small pond" feel AND is getting remodeled (just for us, don't
you know! lol) We will be able to keep that 'family' feeling which
is very important to me.
I don't want to announce the location or dates until I have
everything in place, but with this new location and lessons learned
from this year's convention, next year will be AWESOME. I will tell
you this much, the 2011 theme will be HOLIDAYS and SEASONS. Pull
out the brushes now and start coming up with your best ideas because
we are opening up a page on the website to post EVERYONE"S paintings
that represent the theme so we can use YOUR work for our
advertisements!
