I understand that it's tough across the country these days for everyone. That being said, don't give up the ship.
When people have birthday parties for their kids, that's when they splurge. I've seen, in Washington DC, families who lived in REALLY tough areas and had little to nothing, but that birthday party was one where they invited 40 kids and they shelled out the money like crazy for it. People spend money for parties, period. Just because one or two people aren't buying your services, don't necessarily think you have to lower your pricing. Yes, I'm making less money than I did even two years ago, but I have NOT come down in price. And I don't want to work harder to make the same amount of money by lowering my prices. I'd rather have two jobs in a weekend and make $XXX amount of money than to have 3-4 jobs and make the same amount. Put things in perspective and pay yourself what you are worth. Then you can save to go to those conventions and training, etc. This is a business. Do you see the plumber coming down on his prices? The carpet cleaners coming down on their pricing? The car dealerships coming down in their pricing? No......it's still expensive. Hang in there. It's got to get better!
