Hi list,

According to the http://reactivated.net/fprint/wiki/Supported_devices, I
have purchased
TCRD4C UPEK Eikon fingerprint reader from the Amazon.

Unfortunately, before the purchase I did not find the page:
http://reactivated.net/fprint/wiki/Unsupported_devices
where the model TCRD4C is mentioned as not supported.

My device is recognized on the USB as:
ID 147e:2016 Upek Biometric Touchchip/Touchstrip Fingerprint Sensor

on my Ubuntu 9.10 x64 (2.6.31-16-generic) I have installed:
fprint_demo-0.4
fingerprint-0.12
libfprint-0.1.0-pre2
fingeprintGui 0.12

I am getting following errors:

====================================
pam_fprint_enroll --enroll-finger 2
This program will enroll your finger, unconditionally overwriting any
selected print that was enrolled previously. If you want to continue, press
enter, otherwise hit Ctrl+C

Found device claimed by UPEK TouchStrip Sensor-Only driver
Opened device. It's now time to enroll your finger.

You will need to successfully scan your Left Index Finger 1 times to
complete the process.

Scan your finger now.
Enroll failed with error -22

===================================
FingeprintGUI (installed: ./install.sh --with-upek)

It is possible to acquire fingers in the Scan/Verify folder.
When fingerprint is successfully acquired, than in the Settings folder, when
running the test and swiping finger, nothing happened. If Enter pressed in
this window, the message: "Fingerprint authentication failed." appears.

I am intending to use fingerprints to control access (doors etc.).

I will appreciate your help and comments.

Regards

Petr
