I'm passing on an announcement for Tom's re-election campaign kickoff.

If you're reading this, the odds are that you're going to vote in the 
election. Some people show a righteous indignation at the question of 
whether they are going to be voting. But, at the expense of triggering 
such indignation, please be assured that I'm not questioning your own 
commitment to your civic duty. I'm asking you all to talk to your friends 
and neighbors and put the pressure on them to make sure that *they* vote. 
And if they get indignant, then just tell them that with a 6% turnout for 
the primary, the priority for asking these questions has been naturally 
escalated.

You all saw the numbers of people who actually turned out. Our civic 
responsibilities are commensurately increased by those numbers.
