Hello: Your e-mail struck an extremely painful point with us. We live at 46 Carter Drive, and have been bringing to the attention of the Town of Framingham authorities for years the major change in topography, unsupervised and uncontrolled filling of the land and the wholesale cutting of the trees to "develop" Doeskin II. Our major points always has been that these changes altered the runoff of water from the mountain, and NO studies or controls were in place. Indeed, at one time the developer volunteered to bring a backhoe onto our land and dig a trench to sluice the runoff across the edge of our property onto the property of Don Beers at 48 Carter Drive, who has a drainage ditch around his property. This to me was clear evidence that the developer knew of the major runoff changes he was making. Later, of his own accord with my urging put in a rudimentary drainage channel on Lot 7 behind my property.
The issues of filling, severe grades and tree removal we raised were never effectively acted on by the town and we were always placated. It seems there was no-one or no town board or body that had any authority over what was being done...and is still being done for the profit of a few people at the expense of the many others that live around the "development". We have had much more runoff across our property, and in different patterns that before. We have only lived at 46 Carter Drive since 1996, but we have had some significant rainstorm and snow depths in those years with no problems. Now we get water in through the bulkhead that we never did before. In my opinion, what has been done has significantly lowered the value of my property. The sad story of Doeskin II continues...
