At the possible expense of losing the respect of all my liberal democratic friends (joking f course), I think that the Governor does not and is not making cuts to increase his political capital. I disagree with him on the no new taxes but agree with much that he wants to do. Do not underestimate his intelligence and personal integrity. I have not met him personally but have two friends who are close to him who speak very very highly of him, and I believe their word. Given some time, and a less idiotic modus operandi in the State Legislature, he'd be less combative and more would get done. Finneran and some of the other entrenched democrats look after their own interests first, and the Citizens' second.
