As a volunteer for Callahan State park, I can attest to there being more
ticks than people in the area. :-\

As for mosquitoes, I've always been against spraying, but nowadays it's a
public health issue, so I suppose it's a necessary evil. Too bad we can't
just manage all the stagnant water where they breed, but the town doesn't
have the resources for its property, and too many homeowners don't know
enough or don't care enough to manage theirs.
