Hello Jonathan,
I know 2 plug-ins which can do this:
1. Paragraph Tools from http://www.siliconprairiesoftware.com/
2. TemplateMapper from cud
(http://www.telecable.es/personales/cud/cssIndex.htm).
Both are great tools. I use Paragraph Tools for "small to medium-sized
conversion jobs" and TemplateMapper for "big jobs", i.e. many books and
convert not only paratags, but also chartags, table formats,
cross-reference formats and a lot more. Moreover, you can save this
mapping as a profile and rerun the job on multiple books. Really
impressive. The only problem: it's hard to find. ;-) I guess you'll have
to contact "cud".
Best regards

Search as I might through the venerable archives, I could not find

Our FrameMaker templates have not been updated in about 8 years and are
starting to get rusty. Since our manuals are ever-growing (many over 1K
pages) and our time is ever-dwindling, I'd like to present to the team a
solution that is as low impact as possible.
I seem to remember some years back a discussion about mapping paragraph
tags from an old template to paragraph tags (with different names,
obviously) in a new template. I just can't remember if this solution
employed scripts or some third-party software.
Any ideas?
(Not sure if it matters, but we're still using FM 6.0.)
Many thanks in advance,
Jon Woodward
