Not at all: thank goodness that it does. What would you want it to do?

For any specific template and any specific monitor, there is always an optimal 
zoom setting that makes best use of the screen area. For FrameMaker to save the 
chosen zoom setting across a group of documents/book is a great time-saver. The 
only downside is the rather cumbersome way it applies zoom settings across a 
book.

Bear in mind that you can customize FrameMaker's zoom settings.
