I have had this happen on a few relatively rare occasions ... and have not looked into how to prevent it.
But, it is one of the reasons I copy the files + book into an archive folder below the working folder before an editing session for any given document. So, yeah, I could mess up what I worked on "that day" (usually not many hours, since I am not always editing stuff), but not from before that. Then my backup solution (I use and love ShadowProtect from www.storagecraft.com<http://www.storagecraft.com>) protects me further with older copies if I really munged things badly enough! This backs up twice a day in my configuration - but it can do "continuous" too.
