Yes. I suppose. Maybe.

Well .. before *you* recommend it, *you* should actually try it. :-)

Note that AEM is really a Web Content Management system. Technologically, AEM is an amazing mashup of technologies .. JCR, JSP, Java, JavaScript .. it does some cool stuff.

However personally, I don't think it's a great tool for managing document content. Honestly, I don't know that it provides many features beyond using the file system and standard Windows network .. and it will complicate a lot of things.

If you're using unstructured FM, it's just gong to store the files as a binary blobs. If you are using XML, I can see that you could possibly set things up so some of the metadata or content is extracted and processed by the underlying system. Since this is really a web server, it's probably best for someone publishing their content through the system and storing the source in the system, so that the two are dynamically linked. That would take a lot of development, but that's the way I see it best utilized.

Cheers,

Does it work?
Is it stable?
Is it an appropriate authoring environment for maybe 6-10 writers?
Anything that would make me question taking the recommendation to the next
step (recommending that my management let me explore it further)?

Hi John...

I have played with AEM+FM .. not really used it in a working environment,
but done some setup and validation. What are you looking for?
