Hi... Make up a little table in Excel or Frame and print it...then laminate it and keep it nearby. These apply to almost every standard font when using a western style (USA) keyboard and the American English language. I can't speak for other keyboard layouts or other languages, but your version of Character Map can be used to sort this out for you.
The three columns in my table are: Symbol, Keystroke and Name. A couple of rows in my handy little table look like this: ? Alt-0169 Copyright ? Alt-0176 Plus/Minus When you use these keystrokes, you are using the same font as the parastyle's default font. You're just accessing a different portion of the ASCII character map that you don't have keys for on your keyboard. Pasting in a similar symbol from another font (i.e., Symbol) introduces an paragraph format override, a practice which should be avoided.
