There is a lack of skilled super8 camera repair men around in Europe. If one of my super8 camera's breaks I have no where to go (except with a Beaulieu, there is Bjorn in Sweden).
This Kodak camera (despite all the negatives that come with it) is a step towards a solution to keep the super8 film format alive. And I thank Kodak for putting that on the market. I compare that with Tesla. Now more car makers build an electric car. This Kodak camera could potentially lead to a cheaper and better version with service included all over the world. I read a lot of negatitvity on the internet, and I understand the comments, but this is one way to keep shooting super8. Not everyone can buy an electric car either.
