> If I send film through the US Postal System will it be x-rayed?

It is possible, unless you mark the package DO NOT X-RAY, in which case
they will not. They do occasional spot X-rays of packages at customs and
occasionally within the US. For domestic packages it is very rare but it
happens sometimes.

> is x-raying film really that bad for it?

It increases the fog density. How much depends on how it was x-rayed.

> Doesn't it depend on the speed of the film.

It does. In general, the ratio is just like light... double the film speed
and you get one stop more density with the same X-ray exposure.

> If it is a low speed like 100 or 6 (hi-con) will it really affect it!!?

Probably not, but I wouldn't risk it. Write DO NOT X-RAY-- MOTION PICTURE FILM
on the side of the package or buy a roll of stickers from Markertek Video Supply
or some such place.
