That person at the far right of the frame is behind a window that has chicken-wire embedded in it. You can see the edge of the window appear above Ricky Leacock's head. It seemed normal to me since I worked there for 2 years, but realize that it appears as an artifact to someone unfamiliar with that strange window. So chicken-wire window, not a scanning artifact.
