Hi Gene, This instructable <http://www.instructables.com/id/Salvage-a-broken-Mini-DV-tape/?ALLSTEPS> seems pretty useful. Some tapes have screws and some don't. But, the process is not that dissimilar to transferring or repairing VHS tapes.
