If you about https://github.com/ghostbsd/networkmgr — I use it, and I
long time did not know what is the package
responsible for WiFi icon — it just worked.
It has only one requirement — the user must have sudo access without
password. If sudo requires password,
networkmgr will ask it somewhere in background. If sudo access fails,
networkmgr works in read-only mode —
shows infomation, cannot change anything. It is why I found this program
in my system — I restricted access,
and networmgr stopped working.
I have not exactly your case — I am still on 14.3, and in this month
switched from KDE to Mate, networkmgr
works fine.
What exactly problem you have with it?
Best regards,
Vladlen
