In fact, it's the rather large problem of "reproductible builds" [1] which is embrassed by many projects [2]. I just discovered FreeBSD even has a Mailing-List dedicated to this topic [3]. While the archive seems to say no essage where posted, I guess a few folks are subscribed, and adding this list to the discussion might be a good idea?
