Confusion! Mergemaster and portupgrade are very different tools.

Regular use of  the ports system requires some maintenance - it's not just CVSup &
portupgrade, for example:

        1. CVSup
        2. portsdb -Uu
        3. pkgdb -F
        4. portinstall or portupgrade
        5. pkgdb -F
