Do you have moused_enable="YES" in your /etc/rc.conf The moused should be started by devd. Could you dump the descriptors using commands "dump_curr_config_desc dump_device_desc" before the device is reset? Try to run: /usr/sbin/moused -p /dev/ums0 -t auto -I /var/run/moused.ums0.pid Before device reset.
