Follow-up Comment #19:
Testing on S2_2 with your patch, all seems fine now on my machine. It even
seems to have cleared up a minor "pixel dust" issue I had noticed before when
scrolling around.
I think we should try to get this second half of the fix into 2.2.3 (which is
planned to be tagged on Sunday 12th).
