One more comment:
on xorg 1.14.0 on trunk its almost ok also,
vertical lines ( some violet ) are shown only when grid is enabled in both
versions
( 2.3.4 and trunk ),
I bet those lines will disappear with next or maybe next next xorg-server
version.
