Hi, on http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=900300&group_id=5109&atid=355109 the SourceForge user rainone (Francesco Rainone) offers to translate strings to Italian for us. I think he should first have a look at FreeCOM...? Please mail him about that... Of the components which I maintain myself, only some old tools (not by myself, I only maintain them) support localization / i18n / NLS already. I think translation of their strings should wait until more important components have been translated.
My own components are often written in Assembly language and contain no support for localized messages. If you are really bored, you can replace all printf/puts in MODE and UNDELETE (my only components which are written in C as far as I remember) by KITTEN localizeable calls, but I myself am not planning to do that anytime soon. Very low priority. Let me know if YOU want to do it. Otherwise you might be working on one versions strings while I am already working on the internal workings of another version (or in the case of UNDELETE probably somebody else will be working on internal improvements, not me). Again, I suggest to ask Francesco to translate the FreeCOM shell message catalogue first. Hope that is a good idea...
