Hello to all,
I just downloaded EMM386.EXE & HIMEM64.EXE from ftp.devoresoftware.com 7/4/04, but I
can't seem to get them to work with the soundblaster SBINIT.COM driver which
initializes my new soundblaster 16 PCI card. SBINIT.COM seems to see VCPI/DPMI but...
I get the following Error:
"Could not allocate code/patch ram below 4mb boundary. Try loading smartdrive.exe
after sbinit.com or minimizing vdisk ram. pci audio driver not loading"

The MS emm386 & himem.sys from win98SE do work, but non GPL software will not work for
me. I'm using kernel 2035 and I also tried reverting back to kernel 2033.

I would greatly appreciate it if Michael Devore could send me an EMM386.EXE &
HIMEM64.EXE that will enable me to load my SoundBlaster16 PCI card drivers. SBINIT.COM
in particular... or let me know what I'm doing wrong. Below is a link to the sbpci.zip
drivers and a copy of my DOS config files. Many thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Brian

The SBPCI.zip archive contains the dos sound card drivers for all Sound Blaster
pci cards (excluding SBLive! and Audigy Models). They are setup and optimized
for ArcadeOS and MAME but they should work well with any legacy dos game.

SBPCI.zip supports the following Sound Blaster PCI cards
-------------------------------------------------------------
SB Audio PCI 128
Creative AudioPCI
Sound Blaster 16 PCI
Sound Blaster PCI 128
Sound Blaster AudioPCI
Creative Ensoniq AudioPCI
Creative Vibra 128
Any of the following chipsets: 1371, 1373, 5880
