I didn't know if you were still working on it or whether it was just an example patch. If an example, it wasn't worth your time (or mine, frankly) to go into further detail. If you're interested, the removal of the 16-bit stack check and adjustment for PM_Entry "appears" to expose certain applications to a crash condition on a DE0CH value because of its use of ESP contents, potentially with a garbage value in the high word. > BTW, the posted code is totally unrelated to FD >v1 distribution. No, I was referring to the mods migrating back into FreeDOS, since there was quizzing here on the example vs. distribution code by Arkady, along with a general reinforcement of why his optimizations weren't making it in. >Stargunner running as VCPI client is not totally reliable, but that is also >true for MS Emm386. I've heard about instability on it, but it's curious that I can consistently duplicate the exact crashes under VPC and Qemu (though at different areas), whereas I can play it for quite a while under straight DOS and exit without failure. And if the exact nature of the failure were known, it may be possible for me to implement a workaround in EMM386, as was done with other ill-behaved applications. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
