It should be implemented to work for the most users with the minimum amount of confusion and the minimum amount of FreeDOS support contact afterwards. That may or may not meet your definition of "right". But, now there are rumors of applications which leave A20 hanging off, to spite and annoy us all. Nothing like a little challenge. And competition. So here it is: Write the most compatible A20 handler and submit it for inclusion in the EMM386 release. Three simple rules: 1) has to work with EXEPACK, 2) you test to make sure it works, and 3) you have twelve hours from the beep to submit it. The winner receives a box of FreeDOS-branded tissue paper, suitable for crying in over all the fundamental incompatibilities raised by DOS, A20, and protected mode, amongst others. You have to send me your mailing address and trust I won't send you a dead fish instead. I won't, and really will send the tissue paper, but you have to have to have the trust. There will be no runner-up prizes, mostly since I figure I'll get one submission. And I'm not too sure it will reach that number.
