I think it's a shortcoming of the redirector interface or implementation
if/when/that character devices do not show up in redirected directories.
Function 2F.1223 appears to be intended to allow the redirector to detect
character device names, to handle them in the same way the block device
file system handler does.

I don't see how fiddling with character device names or "TRUENAME" (21.60)
would be of any use here. Just loop through the CDS entries and check the
flags and such. I think that's what SHSUCDX does to allocate drives, too.
