FreeBASIC is a compiler, which doesn't run properly on FreeDOS AFAIK in the first place, so you would have to do cross-platform development. BWBasic is an interpreter, which runs very well on FreeDOS, despite some shortcomings, hence should be very well kept within ant FreeDOS "distro"...
